Tag: Why do you wear makeup?

Hello! Finally, a skincare and makeup related post eh?
Got this Blog Tag from kmmyp on Google Reader :)

Recently, I've been attending Christmas parties left and right. And what usually happens with these kind of parties is more often than not you are obliged to dress up. Company parties, business party get-togethers, that kind of stuff. It did get me thinking that I still suck at putting makeup on.

(1) When did you begin loving make-up?
I started being interested in makeup mid 2009, when I was having a rough patch about myself and how I looked. I realized that I was the only one holding back on improving myself in the looks department. I used to think that only the inside counts. I still believe that now, but there's also no harm in making myself go the extra mile! I don't really love make-up per se, but it is an impressive tool in making me look decent for parties and formal events! Because on a daily basis, I put my sunscreen on and that's it.

Bare face, everyday, all day
Apparently, eating choco bars and drinking almond milk are but a few of my hobbies that take up my time

The first was on 2011. This was heavy makeup for me. Consisting of a face base, loose powder, blush, eyeliner, and eyeshadow! The second picture was just recently taken (last week's company Christmas party) and I realized that this was pretty light, compared to the makeup jobs some of my coworker had XDD But I like it enough because it changes my face without having to go to a dramatic transformation.

(2) How do you feel without make-up?
I feel absolutely fine. I wear no makeup on a daily basis except for a very pigmented lip balm.

(3) What do you like about make-up?
I'm not huge into it but I would like to be. It's nice to learn useful stuff like this, as event makeup artistry is a lucrative freelance job for some people! On a personal note, I like it when eyeliners define my eyes. I like it when the skin on my face looks really smooth and fine with a face base. I like it when my cheeks have a peachy color. You know, the whole shebang.

(4) What are your three of your holy grail make-up items?
Majolica Majorca Eyliner, The Face Shop Liptint, Majolica Majorca Face base

If you're feeling like jumping on this nifty bandwagon, feel free to do so! If you have time, comment on this post with your responses or leave a link to your blog below so I can read yours, too :D

MOST WORN: Lipstick/Jewelry/Polish/Etc.

TAGGED

MOST WORN lipstick/lipgloss - Nyx Indian Pink

I swear you guys, this color is just so awesome. Its one of the most popular colors from Nyx Round Lipstick and its such a flexible, all-around, instant pick-me-upper color. I have it on my bag wherever I go.

MOST WORN earrings/necklace - Pink Teardrop with zircon cluster
A gift from my sister for my birthday when she came back home from Japan. I love this. I wear it every chance I get, even just to go out with my friends. It looks a little fancy but its a great accessory for any outfit.

MOST WORN top/shirt - A gray mountain dew shirt.

Hahahaha. I don't know why except that its the most comfortablest shirt I own. I literally can wear this everyday if I could. I love this shirt. Its so dirt cheap too. :/

MOST WORN nail polish - Etude House Pink Glaze

I need to get me more of this. You can easily find it in ebay.ph. I got this as a freebie for some Etude House stuff I ordered online. What do you know? The subtle pink shine is amazing! I am looking at my fingernails coated with this beautiful stuff as I type! LOL!

MOST WORN shoes - n/a
SKIMMERS! I love skimmers.

MOST WORN hair product - Tsubaki Golden Repair

I swear by the Tsubaki golden repair set or commonly known as Tsubaki White. It has made my hair sooooo freaking shiny and sooooo soft. The shampoo alone is enough to keep it shiny, but paired with the conditioner, it makes my hair pliable and smooth. And whenever I use the treatment bottle every 2 weeks, my hair is nothing short of divine. I love it! Kinda expensive if you purchase from here, but its quite cheap in Japan really!

MOST WORN perfume - Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Fizz
Yes, I am positively in love with this line. I think I'm getting green apple next, but I just like this too much to switch! :D

Who's Gorgeous? I'm Gorgeous! :D

GORGEOUS BLOGGER AWARD

By Adin of Spoiled Rotten

List 6 Interesting Facts About You~

1. I am a very non-confrontational person. Most people know that I rather not get into any kind of fights. Sometimes this causes me to question my own strength, because it seems like I can't fight for myself. But recently I stopped thinking that I am a weakling. I think that my strength is my resiliency, my ability to be civil and polite, plus my love for diplomacy: I believe in talking it out rather than hurling hurtful words and clashing of fists.

2. Extremely friendly. Too friendly. Even if you're an acquaintance I don't keep a wall up. I welcome people very warmly. Sometimes my friends think I'm gullible. My boyfriend has voiced his concern about me being too trusting. Whereas I am just puzzled why they would rather view people negatively. There's already too much distrust in the world! Being unfriendly and aloof... where does that get you? Nowhere.

3. I don't eat vegetables. They taste terrible.

4. I have the weirdest dreams! They are just so vivid that when my dreams are funny, I totally laugh out loud, and when they're depressing and scary, I cry upon waking up. An example of my dream: I ate the ashes of my mother (she's alive, but in my dreams she was dead) and I can totally taste that the ashes were chocolate powder! I also dreamed of dead babies floating in a green river and me in the center of the river, swimming, crying, trying to get out. I remember my dreams a lot, too.

5. I can't buy anything more than P1,000 for myself but I can easily shell out more than P5,000 when it comes to my loved ones! Heheh I don't know why it's like that. I wanted to go for a little shopping spree at the mall with the P3,000 I saved up, but I kind of procrastinated because I felt blah. I just kept it and thought that I would use it to buy my family and friends something for every birthday celebration.

6. I am the corniest joker alive. And I laugh at the corniest jokes too! I swear! Mababaw lang kaligayahan ko! Hahahah! Sample...

Question: Paano mo ipapasok ang Elephant sa refrigerator in 3 steps?
.......
Answer: Open mo ang ref, ipasok ang Elephant, i-close ang ref.

Question: Eh paano mo ipapasok ang Giraffe in 4 steps?
.......
Answer: Open mo ang ref, kunin ang Elephant, ipasok ang Giraffe, i-close ang ref.

Question: Tinawag ni haring Leon ang lahat ng mga hayop sa mundo. Sino ang hindi nakapunta?
.......
Answer: Si Giraffe (nasa ref pa sya... LOLOLOLOL!!!!! *sakit tiyan*)

Question: Nasa isa kang malawak na river, kailangan mo ng makapunta sa kabilang dulo pero walang bridge at duon ang habitat ng mga crocodiles. Paano mo ito gagawin?
Answer: Lalanguyin.
Question: Pero kakainin ka ng mga crocodiles?
Answer: Wala sila sa river... Nasa kina Leon.

Hahahahah! Super funny!!

Thank you so much Adin!!! You're such a sweet girl. I got another award, and that's for another post! :) I am tagging....

Godiva Review and Happy Tags

We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be?
- Nelson Mandela, 1994 inaugural speech

Pretty pink lips here we go!
YES? NO? LOBSTER?

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE FRONT:

The GODIVA LICOWHITE I BLOGGED ABOUT is awesome because... it works. Or so I'd like to believe. After like 2 weeks, using it night after night, have finally paid off. I woke up this morning and went to the bathroom to wash the sleep off my face and I pleasantly noticed how my lips have turned a sprightly color. I took the picture above to show off my fat lips the nice hue to all you guys. No lipgloss/stick, just godiva licowhite I applied last night before I went to bed.

I like it because it has no smell, so I don't get turned off from using it (like Vaseline) and that I don't eat it off my lips (like Nivea Cherry-lol!) But what I love most about it is that it really moisturizes, yet it's not grease-heavy on the lips. It's an apply-it-on-and-forget-about-it kind of product.

I have been tagged by the ever-lovely Golden of Goldensdiary! Thanks soooo much! :D I really like tags. I like it because I can talk about... myself. HAHAHAH! Self-centered noh?

SIX THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY

1. Spending ME + BOOKS time. You know what, this past 3-day weekend have been such a great time to de-stress! I get to curl up with my book before I go to sleep, and reach for it beside my pillo when I wake up in the morning. I'm currently reading Atonement by Ian McEwan, South of the Border West of the Sun by Haruki Murakami, and Watchmen (DC Comics) by Alan Moore and I have a lot more books in my To-Be-Read pile which I am excited to read.

2. Buying and trying out Asian skin care products. I am absolutely in love with Asian skin care brands like Lioele, VOV, Beauty Credit, Skinfood, Etude, Samourai Girl. I love their cleansers, moisturizers, masks, serums, emulsions, etc etc. I've my eyes set on that Skinfood Black Garlic Emulsion at Frances' Beauty for a Living blogsale (just checked it--its already bought! naman! ). Maybe for now I have to settle with my trusty Celeteque oil-free toner. I love it and it does its job well.

3. Cosmetics with Cute packaging. I am a sucker for packaging. I'm the type of person who, on an impulse, would probably buy stuff because of the packaging. Or that because I wanted to keep the box. But if I can't but them then I'd just gush at them, like what I did when I'm at the Skinfood Store, or at La Core korean cosmetics shop

4. Watcing awesome movies with friends. Two nights straight we all watched two awesome movies: Orphan and District 9. We went home elated and discussing great scenes. The Orphan movie was very chilling. District 9 blew us away. The action never stopped and we were glued to the screen, barely eating our chips. And the whole thing with the District-9 aliens just about broke my heart.

5. Junk food. Chocolates. Ice cream. Cakes. And no matter how you grill me from eating all these crap I could never help myself. I love eating them all. One time we were out all over the city and my lunch and dinner consisted of 2 ice-cream sandwich and nothing more. I don't want to eat anything else except ice cream sandwiches for the rest of my life.

6. Internet and Videogames. Internet is, basically, my life an my diversion. It's fun working at home and taking it easy and still earn the same wages, at the same time being here in the internet is sweet! It's where I find my source of fun and distraction (sometimes more than I want it to distract me). As for videogames, well, I've been playing since I was 13, and I possibly will never grow out of this! I've played on Famicom, PS, PS2, Sega Dreamcast, XBOX, XBOX360, GameCube, Wii, PS3, even the handheld games and the PC (can't shake off my MMORPG addiction). Whenever I play videogames, it helps me forget about my troubles and simply focus on the linear but complex quest of going on a long adventure and saving the world from destruction.

Those are the six things that make me happy. Now, what's yours?

Meme Award

Nominated by dear Golden and I didn't even know what to do! Hahah I'm so clueless. Thank you! I've seen this Meme Award around and Viola! I have my first one ever !

So here are the rules of acceptance:

1) Acknowledge the person who sent you the award.
2) Nominate 7 other blogs.
3) Share your 7 personality traits so we can get to know you better.

I'm sure that everybody in my friends list have done this already! (I did this a little too late, no?)
So, I hope you all don't mind if I went ahead and start talking about the 7 Personality Traits! :D

1. I really like to be organized. No, really really organized. I'm not someone who doesn't know where I put my stuff. Sometimes its gets serious when I know where YOU put your own stuff! I have a.... sense for these things xD

2. I am a naturally happy person and I am always cheery. At this day and age, it's tough to find something worthwhile to be happy about, but I don't know, I manage to find something that always brightens my day and I take that happiness until I find another source.

3. I am a listener than a talker although I talk a lot. I truly like listening to other people.

4. I am a book enthusiast! I think this defines my personality a lot and I don't mind! I'm sure we all have our introverted side and extroverted side. Being a book reader makes me more attuned to me quieter side.

5. I am generous with affection. When I love you, you'll know it. You'll feel it everyday, with every hug and my happy inquires about your health, life, love life, family, studies, work! I'm not stingy with I love you's to all my relationships. I always will try very hard to make you feel happy.

6. I get really quiet when I'm already angry. I don't like to shout and spew heated words. I hate nagging people. I don't do nagging. Some may want me to verbalize what got me upset but at that point in time, I really can't think and talk! I can only say what I want to when I'm not seething in anger and I can calmly say what's on my mind.

7. Self-pity happens to all of us. Sometimes it strikes me when my spirits are already low. I sometimes have trouble believing that all my dreams will come true. When it grows worse, I'll sometimes tell myself that having the bad things happen won't be so bad if I treat it as a lesson learned. Sometimes it gets the best of me, but I always look forward to getting past the whole thing.

Tagged by the Lovely Thiamere

it's the '10th pic on photo folder' tag...
rules:
* Open your first photo folder
* Scroll down to the 10th photo
* Post that photo and story on my blog
* Tag five {or more} friends to do the same

So this is the 10th pic on my pic folder...

They're STORMTOOPERS! Stormtroopers are so iconic in the Sci-Fi genre because of Star Wars. I saved this picture because I laughed my cheeks off when I saw this photo. Somebody told me it was a young couple's wedding picture. I love the stormtrooper masks! If this is going to be my wedding motif, maybe I wouldn't mind getting married! LOL! SO FUNNY! XDD

Tagged by JBreezy! Five Things that Make Me Happy

My first tag ever from Joanna <3

Five Things that Make Me Happy

1. Books

The acquisition, and the reading of books makes me infinitely happy on so many levels. I feel so giddy at the mere thought of scouring book stores and book sales. I feel a jolt of devious pleasure when I buy books for so much less than their value, as it feels like I've just unearthed a diamond in the rough that's overlooked by everyone. I am at my happiest when I'm reading. I am always very eager to read about adventures, complex stories on seemingly mundane things, romances in classic novels, other culture, sub cultures, and so much more.

2. Being with Family / Friends

Even if the whole world turns on me, I feel like I can always find support in my family and those I consider my true friends.
My family may not be the most perfect, but really, who has a perfect family nowadays? But they are always there to back me up and protect me, and those I consider my true friends accept me for who I am, and all that I will be. The protection and acceptance are something very crucial that I can't do without in life, especially when it's from people that matter to me. Spending time with them is always a welcome treat!

3. Doing new stuff that challenge me
I love learning new stuff, even from the most 'simple', like learning how to sew a purse, playing the piano (which I'm learning now! hehe), and to the most daring like going ziplining and flying from one cliff to another with just cable wires (which I have already done! I want to try it again!), or going to the beach and diving from a platform or just anything that gets my heart pumping is what I love most. Just because I love reading and lounging around doesn't mean I'm a boring person. I'm trying to come out of my shell and do my best in learning about skin care and cosmetics, too. It looks real easy, but woaaaaah! Man, is it super hard! There's a lot I have to learn!

4. Traveling! Traveling! Traveling!
If there's one thing sure about the future, it is travel. I will not NOT TRAVEL! I love learning about languages and culture, and I feel that there are a lot of things I have yet to discover. I'm going to use my career and my degree to the fullest, and in the future will have work where I write AND travel at the same time. A wonderful friend of mine has suggested that we save up for a special trip together, we're planning to backpack across Southeast Asia, which in my opinion, is the most electrifying plan she's ever come up with. I can't stress enough how I WANT IT BAD. I need to get out, see the world! What better way to start than a full Asian continent of culture and languages!

5. Chocolates
I'm a chocoholic. Anything chocolate, I eat and drink! I once almost licked a chocolate lipbalm, ewww! I always immediately love people who bring me chocolates. My sister once brought me a gourmet box of Queen Alice chocolates from Ginza. I love Hersheys, Mars, Snickers, Meiji, Lotte, Van Houten, Cadburry, and so on and so forth! There's nothing I wouldn't do for chocolates (well, except eat cocroaches!) and my most sweetest dream is getting to sample all the chocolates in the freaking world!!
