Product: Avalon Organics Essential Lift Contouring Eye Creme

Hi Everyone!

I have bought something actually for the eyes. FINALLY! This is what I really need right now. I've been eyeing (ok, fine, enough puns! XD) this Avalon Organics Essential Lift Contouring Eye Creme since last year because...

Look at those Puffy Eye Puffs of Forever:

And for a more drastic zoom, please welcome the tired-eyes-of-the-decade:

My sleeping habits have been shot. Again.

I've been looking for the best eye cream that does not sting, does not cause irritation, does not contain too much harmful chemicals and finally I settled that going organic was best! The last eye cream I tried was the Quick FX Eyelift Eye Cream (ugh yuck!!!) and the Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Serum (no-follow through) and they all did nothing for me in the end.

It is a great privilege for me to buy this thing because it is pretty darn expensive for just a small bottle, costing PHP845.00 canyoubelieveit! The gift of beauty comes with a price, indeed! But I saved up for this splurge, so I hope it does its job of helping my tired eyes. I've always loved my double eyelid, but recently I wished I was a monolid!

I'll be monitoring the results of the Avalon organics eye cream so stay tuned for that post! And I will also be getting a lot of sleep.

Take it from me, you need your beauty sleep.

Products: The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Shower Gel, eye creams!)

Hi!

February is here!

Why so fast! Though it's only the first few weeks of the year, I am getting more and more stuff, which is great but surprising. I have several skin care items that were given to me as a trade-off with a friend that I bonded over skin care items. I received The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Shower Gel and the Vanilla Bliss Hand Lotion from her; she got this over the holidays  but turned them over to me because she learned that I loved Cranberry and have always wanted to try that scent.

I traded these for my bottle of Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask because she said she has always been itching to purchase it but never got the time to. Although I have to buy another mint julep, I think it's still worth giving up because my friend threw in a vanilla lotion for me-- because she didn't like the vanilla scent as well!

Crazy girl, eh? But all the better for me!

I have just very recently tried the TBS Cranberry Joy Shower Gel. I love, love, love the scent that's straight from the bottle. It is an amazing cranberry smell that is more fruity than sweet. It's not overwhelming and it is a welcome burst of scent! I bought a fluffy loofah for this so I can scrub the shower gel all over my body and found that when you use the gel, the scent goes from fruity cranberry to a solid, barky cranberry that is so awesome because it doesn't smell so cloying.

This is pretty popular in our household because the person who showers after me always exclaims that the bathroom smells so wonderful! Right now, my niece also uses this because she loves the scent and it moisturizes well enough without having that slippery feel.

Another thing I got is the TBS Vanilla Bliss Hand Lotion. I usually use this at night after taking a bath. AI actually mistook this for a body lotion so at the first try I spread it all over my my hand and body and wondered why it was so creamy? I finally realized it was a hand lotion but whatever! I love it so so so much! The scent is a vanilla au lait kind of thing.  I still use it on my arms and shoulders because I just HAVE to smell the vanilla scent before I go to sleep; it's like aromatherapy for me now! I don't think I can have a well-rested sleep without smelling it on me hahaha!

What I'm worried about is running out of this lotion. Both the Cranberry Joy and Vanilla Bliss are Christmas exclusives / holiday specials :( If I run out of this lotion before this year's Christmas my sleep is doomed! XD With this lotion, I sleep better at night and I wake up with soft skin!

BAD Review: Quick FX Eyelift Cream + Vaseline Lip Therapy

I have a silly nighttime routine. Every night after taking a quick bath---Because who goes to bed all gross from the dirty things that stuck to the body throughout the day? Well, you shouldn't!--- I tend to put something on, like a bit of cream to tone down a streak of bumps in the cheeks, lotions to sooth a drying patch of skin, etc, and all these products I use to take care and nourish my skin...

And the products below are NOT one of those!

Well I used to use them before I realized they did pretty much nothing and sometimes they feel like they are not even helping at all and they don't even feel good! Or smell good! Not even that?! What the gunk.

Here are the products I tried before but I hate now. Ugh. Good thing they weren't the most expensive things in the world.

Quick FX Eyelift Cream - A little packet I bought at Watsons for about P40.00, and this is why people who know things about products would tell you not depend always on cheap things. This product is testament to that: this is pretty much wonky.

At first I had the impression that this was pretty o.k. since it was light, seemed pretty moisturizing and though did not dry as well as I would like, I thought it was good enough as an eye cream...

What I didn't like about this:
I felt like it didn't do anything for me. I had droopy eyebags whenever I stay up too late consecutively, or have weird sleeping patterns when I wake up at 2AM for no apparent reason and I have trouble sleeping again. So when I use this whenever I KNOW I'm going to stay up late and in the succeeding days after it for good measure, I see virtually no 'lifting' of my eyebags at all. Not even at least a de-puffing for all its Ellagic Acid and Niacinamide powers. It also smelled horrible!!!! I dunno how them chemists achieved a good balance between the smell of being plasticky and fishy but believe me, they made this perfect... perfectly icky!

Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cherry - Another supposed night time application for me that I thought would be a nice addition. Costs about P70.00 in local drugstores.

This one I had actual high hopes for. I used this on my lips to soften my fish scales lips in time for tomorrow. Below is a normal swipe of the product I use. I distribute it as evenly as possible.

What I didn't like about this:
When I first used this I liked it because... well it was just what you would expect of petroleum jelly!!!! Nothing more, nothing less, although conveniently packed in a pretty little tube that costs more than when you buy the big tub of the original one. Even after some weeks of usage, I still had dry, flaky parts. Not really good, I had better find another lip creme. And because of my current routine, something as chemical as petroleum has no place in my drawer.

I don't know if you've used as crappy a product as this; All I have is the consolation that you can't always have what you like, and life is an ongoing process of trial and error.

Have a good weekend! :)

Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Serum

Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Serum is a popular line in the Skinfood store. The serum is highly concentrated in omega-3 fatty acid, haloxyl, arbutin and vitamins to improve blood circulation and whiten skin for that pretty, radiant eyes.

This week has been major dark eyebags week for me. I've tried using cucumber when my eyes get too puffy, but it doesn't remove those dark rings under my eyes. It's time for me to take out the 3-piece Skinfood tester I got from Na-Hee and see how it fares.

TIRED EYES AT ITS BEST. HELP ME, SALMON!
(too much work, not a lot of sleep)

The serum is water-based so no clogging oily stuff here! It not only promises to brighten dark eyes, but it also promises to combat fine lines. What I like about this is it is a very light cream, so the skin absorbs it immediately. I just don't like the smell! It's like the smell of old, dry rose which I hate (creepy old rose smell!)

The sample pack lasts for 2-3 uses, since you need very little for both eyes. I have 3 so as soon as I finished all them I'm going to post a before and after shot or something... IF it has any effect lol!
